MEET NATHAN

Hi, I'm Nathan, and I hope to have the honor of being your Senator.  Thanks for taking the time to learn more about my campaign and why I joined the fight for Wyoming's families.

When I was growing up, there were two themes my parents imparted on me and my brothers: the importance of public service and a love of Wyoming.  My parents met here in the sixties working on a ranch where my Dad was head wrangler and my Mom was a housekeeper.  Every summer growing up our family would backpack in Wyoming - the Tetons, Wind Rivers, and Big Horns.  When I was 14, I climbed the Grand Teton.  One of my first jobs was working in room service at a Jackson hotel.  I've been stranded by many a winter storm along I-80 over the years.

My family has a deep history of military heroes - starting during the Revolutionary War and through every American War up to Iraq.  My parents chose to work in public policy, national security, and the challenges facing Wyoming with their professions.  We are a family of public service.

I went to college at the University of Colorado at Boulder and studied Journalism.  After college, I worked a couple of odd jobs in Wyoming but then, like many of the young people in our state, couldn't find opportunities to start a career and moved out of state.  In the years that followed, I worked in business, as an entrepreneur, and as a community organizer.  I've had successes and like many of us, these days faced challenges.  I was unemployed for two years at one point.  I know what it feels like to struggle to pay rent and healthcare expenses.

In 2016, I walked away from high paying job in D.C. at Deloitte Consulting and took a big pay cut to come back to Wyoming as part of the next generation leadership at the Jackson Hole Center for Global Affairs (JHCGA). JHCGA is a family organization focused on developing winning strategies for Wyoming, including a long track recording supporting carbon capture and storage technologies.  At JHCGA, I've created Wyoming programs focused on seizing future opportunities - such as the Wyoming Wind Coalition.  I've led initiatives focused on diversifying Wyoming's economy and fostering bipartisan climate solutions, tripled JHCGA's budget and more.

I married the woman of my dreams in 2014 and in 2018, our daughter was born. We have a son on the way.

So, why me?  Because I care deeply about Wyoming's future.  I want to help lead Wyoming into a new chapter built on our unique strengths to thrive.  I'm not interested in being a career politician and  I'm not interested in towing political party lines from the left or the right.  I'm interested in getting things done.   Vote for me and I won't let you down.
